The 2025 China International Maritime Exhibition (Marintec China 2025), known as "the global maritime industry trendsetter", was held from December 2nd to 5th, 2025 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. It was a maritime industry exhibition with the theme of "Innovation and Cooperation, Promoting Sustainable Development of the Maritime Industry Together". Norway, as the main guest country, organized nearly 40 enterprises to participate in the exhibition.

The total exhibition area of this event exceeded 110,000 square meters for the first time and all the booths were sold out by March. By June, more than 200 enterprises had registered as exhibitors . The overseas exhibition areas (N1-N4 halls) covered Denmark, Norway, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, Austria, Finland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, and the Hong Kong region of China. Among them, Germany was the largest overseas exhibition group; the domestic exhibition areas (W1-W5 and the tent exhibition area) covered 24 provincial administrative units in China, including Zhejiang Zhoushan, Jiangsu Nantong and Zhenjiang, Shanghai Pudong, etc. Government organizations of regional exhibitions were also set up by local governments. Domestic leading enterprises such as China State Shipbuilding Corporation, COSCO Shipping, Sinotrans Industry, Zhenhua Heavy Industry, and Ningde Times participated in the exhibition. Ziqi Dan Power Co., Ltd. showcased the country's first mini ship mechanical arm for shipbuilding and completed 9 contracts worth over 100 million yuan . Concurrently, the Pudong Shipping Week and the High-Quality Development Conference of the Changxing Island Shipbuilding Base were held. Among them, the Pudong Shipping Week included 40 events, 70% of which were organized by new participants .

On December 2nd, 2025, the opening ceremony showcased China's first independently built polar scientific research icebreaker, the Snow Dragon 2, China's second domestically produced large cruise ship "IDA Hua Cheng", and the "Jiaolong" submersible, etc. . The advanced maritime forum was themed "Smart Leadership, Green Coexistence, and Integrated Innovation", with the addition of the "Marintec Innovation–Energytec" forum focusing on alternative energy supply chains, and a future energy and cruise interior design special exhibition areas. The exhibition first proposed the #MarintecCares initiative, reducing environmental impact through measures such as reducing construction materials and promoting renewable resources. The Wuhan Shipbuilding Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Group independently developed a 29,000 DWT ammonia fuel dual-phase stainless steel chemical tanker received the principle approval certificate from the Chinese Classification Society , and Ziqi Dan Power's L230 micro spray methanol single fuel engine and ship hybrid power system received the principle approval certificate from the Chinese Classification Society .

From January to October 2025, a total of 1,632 new ships and 94.87 million deadweight tons of orders were concluded globally, a year-on-year decline of 44.5%. The China Shipbuilding Industry Research Center predicted that the global shipbuilding market in the "15th Five-Year Plan" period would have an average annual demand of approximately 110 million deadweight tons, a decrease of about 20% compared to the average value of the "14th Five-Year Plan" . From January to June 2025, China's shipbuilding completed output, new orders, and held orders accounted for 47.2%, 64.0%, and 57.6% of the global total . On December 5th, 2025, the China International Maritime Exhibition 2025 concluded successfully in Shanghai .
